Richard Wolf: over a century of reliability

“1912 marks the start of Theodor Mohwinckel’s commercial activity in the medical field (which would later become Movi Spa). It is also remembered for the memorable day in Kiel, when Mohwinckel met Georg Wolf and decided to market his friend’s endoscopy instruments. ” 

Richard Wolf GmbH was founded in 1906 in Berlin by Georg Wolf, who recogniz the importance of using stainless steel produced by the historic Krupp in hospital settings. Since then, the company has played a leading role in the development of surgical and diagnostic endoscopy worldwide and operates in a variety of disciplines, from minimally invasive surgery to urology, gynecology, ENT, orthopedics, and spinal surgery.

Movi’s distribution of Wolf’s German surgical instruments began as far back as 1912. This partnership was not only the first commercial collaboration but also the longest-lasting, as it continues to thrive today after more than 110 years!

Pajunk was founded by the same-named siblings in 1965 in southern Germany. It has been recognized as an international leader in the production of the highest quality regional  anesthesia needles, thanks to its relentless research, continuous innovation, and development of new products to serve the clinician and the patient.

The partnership with Movi began in 1989 with the launch on the Italian market of Sprotte’s universal atraumatic needle, a revolutionary product in the medical field.

Since then, the collaboration has always been fruitful and respectful, thanks to the strong alignment of philosophy and values between these two companies.

With more than 20 years of experience in the world of diabetes in Italy, Movi introduced the Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump in 2018, a game-changer in the world of Type 1 diabetes because of its cutting-edge rechargeable battery-powered device, fully touch display, and remotely updatable software.

Another revolution is Control-IQ technology, for insulin delivery based on blood glucose readings provided by the technology’s built-in Dexcom G7 sensor.

Tandem has always embraced a “user centered” approach in the development of its products, emphasizing listening to users and all stakeholders involved, a vision that is fully shared and has always been promoted by Movi as well.

The company has its own in-house R&D department and possesses unique know-how in the field of medical polymer chemistry, which is reflected in the development of materials and shapes through innovative molding technology.

SYST’AM®’s products can be found in more than 30 countries, but in Italy Movi is their exclusive distributor, thanks to its established sales network and expertise in the field of aids for the elderly and disabilities.
